With the support of Metro Edge's Emerge Summit community and KJ Productions, I was stoked the Dune was selected as the winner for the Pitch for Change competition! The Pitch for Change call for ideas initiated a platform for young professionals to think BIG and share ideas across diverse disciplines to help each other get our ideas off the ground. The great energy and support shared at the Emerge Summit proves we are ready to take charge in how we shape an innovative and authentic city experience.

Part of this vision, is the desire to create a unique riverfront experience that is connected to the City. The city’s river experience currently lacks amenities, and has little connection to the City itself. In response, the Dune is landscape art installation aimed at activating the riverfront using short term and low cost strategies, that include community collaboration, to establish a new identity for our riverfront experience. The desire is to leverage the space with community events, including movie nights, recreational activities and art displays, to name a few. Thanks to Metro Edge, and the competition's sponsor Uptown Studios the concept is becoming a reality. I am currently meeting with Uptown Studios, community members, and developers to map out a formal proposal. The immediate goal is to secure a location on the river, and begin the task of establishing financial backers. It is my hope that through community support the Dune will be built within the next year!
