Attorney
Weintraub Tobin

Where do you currently work, how long have you been there, what do you do?

I have been at Weintraub Tobin for 4 years. I am a corporate attorney specializing in representing startups and midsized companies in financing mergers and acquisitions and general counsel work such as negotiating the miscellaneous business contracts like purchase orders, licenses, etc., forming companies, and advising on fiduciary duty obligations. Essentially, I do all the agreements and negotiations that keep the wheels of business greased.

Prior to that?

I was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York specializing in mergers and acquisitions, where we would typically represent the major private equities (e.g., KKR, Blackstone, and Silver Lake Partners) in transactions.

What is your educational background?

I went to Wesleyan University and have BA in both Economics and Psychology. After that, Columbia Law School for my JD.

What is the best part of your job?

Helping entrepreneurs and businesses troubleshoot and strategize for their future.

What do you love about living here?

I love how Sacramento maintains its small town feel, where everyone knows each other- while still being a major city, where there is always something to do.

What is one thing that might surprise people about you?

I am a huge fan of musicals despite actually having absolutely no musical or signing talent of my own.

When you aren't in the office where can we find you?

Weeknights I’ll attend an Edge, Roberts Family Development Center, or law events, after which way too often I will be working late into the night at home. On weekends typically my wife and I will try and do at least one fun Sacramento activity with our two year old son and for the next few months we will be getting our house ready for our second kid!
