Jim joined Metro EDGE in 2010 and has served on the Regional Action Committee.  As the Economic Development Manager for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), Jim leads a team that is responsible for partnering with local and regional organizations to promote job growth in the Sacramento region. Prior to joining SMUD in January 2010, Jim worked in state level government and served as the Assistant Secretary for the California Health and Human Services Agency in the Schwarzenegger Administration.  Jim plays an active role in the local community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Crossroads Diversified Services, the Folsom Economic Development Corporation and the North Sacramento Chamber of Commerce.  He also serves on the advisory committees for the Sacramento County Business Environmental Resources Center, the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance CleanStart Program, Valley Vision’s Green Capital Alliance and the Metro Chambers’ Jobs and Business Growth Committee.  Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business from Cornell University and was the youngest person ever to serve as President of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Alumni Association from 2009 to 2010.  Jim and his wife, Lenora, live in the Wilhaggin neighborhood of Sacramento and can be found often running or biking on the American River Parkway.
