Get the Most Out of Your EDGE membership

Do. All. The. Things. There are countless ways to get involved in EDGE and as a member, you have access to every program and event offered. Are you getting the most out of your membership if you haven’t exposed yourself to all things EDGE? This is your chance to get involved!

Ask yourself, why EDGE? Understanding what exactly motivated you to join will help drive you down the path to fulfilling your potential as a member. Do your research and peruse the EDGE website. Don’t forget to also follow EDGE on social media to get a pulse on all our programs and upcoming events.

Engage a diverse network. If you’re new to EDGE and looking to make new connections or gain a better understanding of all the greatness that Sacramento has to offer, then attending an In The Mix is a great place to plug in. EDGE’s monthly mixer is usually scheduled on the third Tuesday of the month at a hip locale around the grid. You can mingle with new friends and get to know others that are maximizing their memberships. Show up early for an ambassador introduction to EDGE to connect with other new members.

Develop critical business skills. Does your employer support your ongoing professional development and membership with EDGE? Lean into the opportunity while you are working for an organization that believes in the betterment of your skills and career! Or perhaps you’re looking to make a leap in your career path. Attend a forum to take your networking skills to the #nextlevel Hear from local executives from various industries about their own career journey to learn what it takes to rise in your own career at Executive Insights. Check out the weekly eblast for career inspiration on the EDGE blog and EDGEvice column. Can’t make an in person event? Check out EDGEx, the Metro EDGE answer to digital learning that will help refine your business acumen.

Give back! Learn more about EDGE’s annual beneficiary to give your time, talent or treasure. This year we’re supporting Inspire Giving’s benefactor, Grid Alternatives. <link info> Just looking to connect with other EDGErs at a volunteer day? Sign up to participate in one of EDGE’s quarterly Day on The EDGE events. You’ll roll up your sleeves and work side by side on a project with fellow EDGErs, that will not only improve the community but you’ll have fun doing it!

Empower your leadership abilities and join a committee. EDGE is a volunteer run organization, thanks to the work of the committee members. Each committee crafts the content and programming that EDGE offers. This is where you will deepen your engagement and build long lasting relationships with community colleagues. Ready to take the lead? Applications for EDGE’s 2019 Leadership Council are open July 31 – August 31, 2018.

Reach out to the members of EDGE’s Leadership Council. These members got their start with EDGE, just like you. And if you’re still not sure how to make the most of your membership, this group of people is a great place to start, or if you know exactly what connection you need, the goals you have or want to connect with folks that have been involved for a few years, reach out.

EDGE is what you make it, make the time to invest in yourself, because that’s so #nextlevel!
