Job Description

The Foundation for California Community Colleges is on a mission to double its impact in the next 10 years. We are seeking a Student Assistant to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation.

What You’ll Do

  • Enter data for Learning Lab’s contact database housed in Access, which may include conducting internet research to verify contact information.
  • Create forms, simple queries, and reports; and troubleshoot in Access.
  • Create a repository of past grant application information (including tagging and indexing) and simple queries to sort data in Access.
  • Assist with procuring, organizing and centralizing photos and images for the program website.
  • Support Learning Lab efforts to meet information governance guidelines, such as completing document inventory.
  • Convert Excel spreadsheet(s) to project timelines in project management system, Asana, as needed.
  • Organize and centralize funder-related information, as needed.

What you bring

  • Proficient computer skills with demonstrated experience in MS Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  • High attention to detail with regard to spelling and numbers.
  • Takes initiative to develop systems to check work for accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and keep appropriate personnel apprised of status.
  • Ability to work remotely and navigate various technology platforms (i.e., Zoom, MS Office Suite, Teams, and Google Suite).
