We are seeking a Program Specialist to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation.

What You’ll Do

Under the direction of the Director of Professional Learning, in the Success Center, the Vision Resource Center Program Specialist is responsible for supporting both the agile processes of 4 cross functional teams and the triage of incoming support tickets from users of the VRC from throughout the CCC system. This position is joining the team as we transition from start-up (launched in fall 2018) to steady growth. A successful person in this position will support this fast paced, high functioning team performing like a well-oiled machine. An exceptional person for this position is someone who wants to ultimately serve the professional learning for all professionals across the California Community Colleges, in 116 colleges and 73 districts.

What you bring

  • Collaborates with 4 functional team leads and execute on tasks needed for managing all project work.
  • First point of contact for the support portal requests.
  • Works with whole to team (approx. 12 people) to resolve low level requests and ensure that more complex requests get to the right people for resolution.
  • Tracks and manages the submissions of survey results, requests for information, and formal signed agreements.
  • Performs project management duties on behalf of the VRC team and works directly with product owners (4) to track the work within platforms like Jira.
  • Participates in meetings with project leadership to ensure that strategies and tactics are planned for new work.
  • Coordinates activities of the cross functional project teams, ensuring that follow up activities and meetings are scheduled promptly and with the necessary people.
  • Tracks and manages project status in project management tools, JIRA and others, through the entire service delivery cycle.
  • Attends all project meetings with vendors, partners and funders to effectively follow up and ensure the cross functional teams have the time and resources they need.
  • Provides ad-hoc support for other Vision Resource Center-related project work.

  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, the California Community College system and the Foundation’s mission.
