Council advances streetcar system plan – Property owners to vote on fees; city funds committed

Ballots asked landowners for financial contribution to the streetcar system for 30 years. Residents and landowners in the proposed fee district would pay between $10 and close to $100,000 a year, depending on the size of their properties.

If landowners vote yes, the City Council will contribute $7 million in city money to the project.

Sacramento transit leaders agree light-rail service needs improvement

Connect Card: Sacramento Region will have one single state of the art “smart card” transit fare payment system. The Connect transit card will be used by Sac RT, Roseville, e-tran, El Dorado Transit, Folsom Stage Line, South County Transit Link, Yolo Bus and Yuba-Sutter Transit.

The program is currently in beta testing with Sac RT. The goal is to roll-out in the region in spring/summer 2015. More information is available at connecttransitcard.com
